Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that incorporates principles of traditional Chinese medicine and Taoist principles. It involves holding asanas (postures) for longer periods of time than in other styles, usually 3 to 5 minutes. Yin yoga helps to stretch and lengthen rarely-used tissues while teaching how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts. It is a relaxed, passive style of yoga that involves paying attention to your breath, thoughts, and body sensations. The classes are led by our wonderful yoga teacher Athena Bakar. This is a drop-in-class option. If you enjoy the classes and want to enjoy the benefit of regular practice we recommend purchasing the full course.
