Conversational English for Upper-Intermediate and Advanced Learners Fine-tune your English. Speak more precisely. Respond with ease. You understand English without major difficulty, can handle everyday conversation, and have no real trouble following films or reading in English—but sometimes you search for the right word, or small inaccuracies slow down your fluency. Would you like to take your English further—refine your expression, expand your vocabulary, and speak with greater confidence? This course is designed for upper-intermediate to advanced students who want to use English more naturally, accurately, and with ease. Is this course right for you? We speak a lot, respond spontaneously, and learn to notice subtle differences in meaning and style. Each lesson usually includes one optional task. The teacher also regularly shares additional materials—articles, texts, videos, and language tips. If you wish, this gives you plenty of opportunities to work with English between lessons and make faster progress. Group and atmosphere We work in a small group (3–6 participants), which allows for deeper discussion, individual feedback, and natural progress. The atmosphere is open, supportive, and intellectually lively—without pressure, but with clear direction. About the teacher The course is led by Helena Barrera, who can turn almost any topic into an engaging conversation—from the contents of a fridge to exploring the universe. Her lessons are varied, authentic, and always full of positive energy. Helena has a talent for creating an environment where students feel relaxed, laugh often, and make real progress at the same time. Practical information ▫️ Payment: 100 CZK deposit at registration (by card or bank transfer), balance paid after the first lesson; option of two instalments ▫️ Trial lesson: you can try the first lesson without commitment; cancellation within 24 hours ▫️ Make-up lessons: with notice at least 24 hours in advance, up to two lessons per term can be made up A course for those who already have a solid foundation in English—and want to take it to the next level.
