Course details
▫️ Suitable for: adults ▫️ Level: pre-intermediate to intermediate ▫️ When: Thursday 09:45–10:40 ▫️ Teacher: Helena Barrera ▫️ Focus: understanding, reviewing and using English grammar in practice ▫️ First class: trial class for CZK 100 Do you feel like you’ve already studied most grammar points at some stage, but still find yourself searching for the right form when you speak? Would you finally like to understand why certain structures are used instead of simply memorising more rules? English Grammar in Context is a practical course for students who already have a foundation in English but want to connect the dots and gain a clearer understanding of grammar. The aim isn’t to learn as many rules as possible. It’s to understand how English works and get enough practice to use grammar naturally when speaking, reading and writing. ✨ Is this course for you? Yes, if you: ▫️ have studied English before but still have gaps in your grammar ▫️ know some of the rules but struggle to use them when speaking ▫️ want to understand the differences between similar structures ▫️ need to refresh and connect what you’ve learned in the past ▫️ want to understand grammar rather than memorise it 📚 What to expect We’ll gradually review important areas of English grammar – such as tenses, questions and negatives, modal verbs, conditionals, prepositions, articles, comparatives and superlatives, and relative clauses. We’ll use traditional grammar exercises where they’re useful, but we certainly won’t stop there. You’ll practise both new and familiar grammar mainly through actually using English – in conversations, short texts, reading, games, stories and other creative activities. We’ll compare similar structures, look for patterns and work out together why a particular tense or form is used in a particular situation. The goal isn’t to be able to recite a rule, but to gradually develop a feel for what works in English – and be able to use it. 🌸 About Helena The course is taught by Helena Barrera, an English teacher and interpreter who has used English as a natural part of both her work and everyday life for many years. She enjoys explaining grammar practically and in context, with an emphasis on understanding how the language works and actually using it. Her classes are varied and informal, combining clear explanations with plenty of space to explore and practise for yourself. 🌱 Trial class ▫️ When booking, you only pay CZK 100 for the first class. ▫️ After the class, you have 24 hours to decide whether you’d like to continue. 🧩 Make sense of grammar. See how it all fits together.
